Sign Up For Courses Acupuncture Healthcare Clinic provides an avenue for NCCAOM Diplomates to earn "PDA Points" (CEUs) for participating in recognized programs that apply toward NCCAOM recertification requirements. Florida acupuncturists are required to take a total of 30 hours of continuing education every two years to maintain licensure. Florida allows up to 23 hours of acupuncture continuing education to be taken online towards acupuncture license renewal. CE Broker is the State of Florida CEU provider involved in licensure and continuing education, making the healthcare renewal process easier and more time-efficient for all professionals.

Placement Reporting East West College of Natural Medicine rigorously applies the following Placement Definition to outcomes reported by all campuses that align with our accreditor guidelines. Any graduate is placed when the graduate meets one or more of the following criteria. The graduate is deemed placed when the graduate’s job TITLE is published by the institution within the program the graduate completed. Job titles are published on each campus website in compliance with USDOE Title IV regulations and are identified in the Department’s CIP-to-SOC Crosswalk (Standard Occupational Classification, U.S. Department of Labor) with the Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) code of this program. The graduate is deemed placed when the graduate’s predominate component of the job requires use of SKILLS learned in the program. The skills lists are published on each campus website and/or College Catalog. The majority of skills are documented in the job description. The graduate is deemed placed when the graduate was placed based upon the benefit of the campus TRAINING, maintained a current job, supported a promotion, or improved job related skills. The college calculates placement rates as follows: (Placed by job TITLE + Placed by SKILLS + Placed by benefit of TRAINING) ((Completers + Graduates) – (Exemptions*)) * Exemptions are: pregnancy, death or other health-related issues, continuing education, military service, visa restrictions, enrollment in English as a Second Language (ESL) program, and incarceration. Accreditations Institutional Accreditation East West College of Nature Medicine is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) a is recognized accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education. East West College of Natural Medicine is currently on probation an action by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges Recent Letter Regarding Status of Accreditation Notification to Prospective Note: The following program offered by East West College of Natural Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM): Master of Science in Acupuncture and herbal medicine ACAHM does not accredit any programs at the undergraduate/bachelor level. ACAHM programmatic accreditation requires that schools maintain institutional accreditation status by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education. Accreditation status and notes may be viewed on the ACAHM Directory. ACAHM is recognized by the United States Department of Education as the specialized accreditation agency for institutions/programs preparing acupuncture practitioners. This decision is subject to reconsideration and appea l as outlined in ACAHM's Commission Actions Police (a pdf copy of which is attached to this correspondence). The deadline for EWCNM to submit written notice to ACAHM of its intentions to seek reconsideration of, or to appeal the Commission's decision is 26 March 2025. The Commission deferred action on the institution's 1,15 substantive change application to add distance education pending the outcome of the adverse action noted above. Career Development From The Classroom To The Workplace Career Services is dedicated to helping students develop successful and rewarding careers following their East West College of Natural Medicine education. EWCNM provides internship opportunities to help students develop their skills during their education journey. After graduation, we help students build their career paths. For Master of Science in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine students, Career Services guides graduates through the process to be licensed as Doctors of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine/Acupuncture Physicians. There are four licensing boards and an application with the State of Florida (for local practitioners) that need to be successfully navigated and completed. Upon licensure, graduates can: Open their own acupuncture practice (go into business for themselves) Work for an existing acupuncture clinic Work for a western medical clinic/integrative medicine center Concentrate on VA or insurance billing Enter the research field Career Services is always available for students: Resume review Business plan assistance/review Marketing plan assistance/review List of current available job postings

Approved Externship Sites East West College (EWC) offers its students a unique opportunity to participate in professional programs off-campus under the direct supervision of Board Certified Acupuncture Physicians. Interns who meet both the qualifications academically and clinically may be recommended by their clinic shift supervisors for one or more of the externships listed below, pending approval by the Academic Chair and Clinic Director. HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital (Sarasota, FL) Current and eligible EWC students selected for this externship site may treat patients in varying stages of rehabilitation including, but not limited to the following: postoperative pain, post-stroke sequela, respiratory, circulatory, musculoskeletal disorders and more. New College of Florida (Sarasota, FL) Current and eligible EWC students selected for this externship site will be treating fellow college students within New College’s medical and wellness facility. Ringling College of Art & Design (Sarasota, FL) Current and eligible EWC students selected for this externship site will be treating fellow college students in the medical clinic on campus, which is affiliated with Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Kobernick House (Sarasota, FL) Current and eligible EWC students selected for this externship site will provide geriatric patient care in a community style setting that is within the patients’ own environment. EWC students are challenged to perform thorough, timely, and concise treatments. The Caporale Center of Natural Health (St. Petersburg, FL) Current and eligible female EWC students can be selected for this externship site where infertility, gynecological disorders, anti-aging and cosmetic protocols, and hormone balancing are specialties. This health center also treats patients with other varying conditions and ailments. Dr. Kymberly Caporale, D.O.M., D.A.C.M (c)., is the Program Supervisor for this externship site where both the days and times for shifts may vary as dictated by Dr. Caporale. Acupuncture & Herbal Therapies (St. Petersburg, FL) Current and eligible EWC students selected for this externship site will be immersed in a clinic setting where patients with multiple variations of ailments, disorders and diseases are individually assessed, needled and provided a specific formulated herbal remedy. Dr. Bob Linde, D.O.M., A.P., serves as the Program Supervisor for this externship site and while under his supervision will challenge EWC externs to Chinese Herbology in conjunction with patient specific assessment and treatment. Soaring Crane Acupuncture (Tampa, FL) Current and eligible EWC students selected for this externship site will work alongside other students of all differing skill levels in a clinic setting where patients aged 45-80 are individually assessed, needled and offered patient specific herbal remedies. Dr. Teresa Renfroe, D.O.M., A.P., is the Department Chair for this externship site and while under her supervision, EWC students will have access to her Herbal Clinic containing thousands of raw, granule and patent herbs. In addition, Dr. Renfroe will help to bridge EWC students understanding of both individualized treatment along with Chinese Herbology.
